SONAR Training Course

Over the last two weeks we hosted an in-person SONAR training course for a group of customers from The Netherlands.

The course was presented by Elle Newland - Acoustic Projects Manager, and Andy Murray - Radar Technical Engineer & Training Manager.

The SONAR course included a mixture of theory lessons, as well as hands-on experiments using our Acoustic Systems Trainer which helped demonstrate the principles in our classroom based in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire.

A wide range of subjects were covered throughout the course, a few of which included:

• Types of SONAR Display

• Active & Passive SONAR

• Phased Transducers & Arrays

• Propagation of Sound in Water

Elle and Andy worked with the customers during their time with us, to ensure the course structure suited their learning style and adapted where necessary to include more practical lessons.
